The 2010 Grammy Nominees are being announced tonight and everyone's buzzing about who might get the chance to take home a golden gramophone. But there's even more buzz about who it won't be: Lady Gaga...
Gaga is arguably the fastest rising pop star of the year (aside from country princess Taylor Swift), but due to her 2009 Grammy nod for "Just Dance" in the Best Dance Recording category, she's ineligible to be recognized in the Best New Artist category.
Gaga's rule-enforced exclusion has been so controversial over the past few weeks that the Grammys are considering changing the rules. Grammy president Neil Portnow told PEOPLE that "this particular issue in the Best New Artist category is on our radar and I would expect changes to address it in next year's voting." Shame it'll be too late for Gaga. But who knows--maybe they'll pull a fast one on us and nominate Gaga anyway!
Tune in to CBS tonight at 9pm EST to find out the 2010 Grammy Nominations and see the best of the nominees perform live in concert!
Who do YOU think should be nominated for a Grammy this year?
